Ready Fitness Senior Project Manager Cel Smart recently appeared on the WCNC show “Charlotte Today” to talk about some simple ways to start a fitness journey not just now but anytime of the year! Check out the following advice from Cel!
“Starting (or restarting) your fitness journey doesn’t require perfection, it requires awareness, intention, and support. I loved sharing these tips on Charlotte Today,” says Cel.

1. Start with a Baseline
Know where you are today — not to judge, but to create awareness. A simple fitness check gives you a clear starting point and a way to track progress.
2. Set one Achievable Goal
Choose one goal that fits your life right now. Simple ones like moving three days a week, improving your mile run (or walk) time or adding reps to your current routine.
When goals are accomplished, confidence builds and confidence leads to consistency.
3. Create a plan with Accountability & Community
That plan might include classes, online programs, hiring a coach, or teaming up with a friend. Accountability helps you show up and community helps you keep showing up.
Community is personally important to me, which is why last year a group of us created MultiFamily Milers — an open run/walk group for anyone who lives in an apartment or works in the multifamily industry.
