We are well into 2024 and well beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.  Fitness trends are changing, and companies like Ready Fitness are evolving to adapt to those changes!

#1 WEARABLE TECH

According to a survey by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), wearable technology is considered the most significant trend in 2024. From Smartwatches to fitness trackers and heart rate monitors, integrating your workout with technology is not a new trend… just a trend with staying power.

Tech tools can help people tailor their workouts and connect them with friends and other fitness partners. Social support is one of the strongest indicators of fitness success. At Ready Fitness, many of the pieces of equipment we install can integrate with most wearable technology and create a seamless experience for your residents and members.

But technology is not the only game in town.

#2 HEALTHY WORK ENVIRONMENTS

The number two fitness trend of 2024 is worksite health promotion, which hit the Top 10 for the first time in the ACSM survey. Most companies have returned to the office post-pandemic, and employee wellness is again a focus at work. Mental Illness increased during the pandemic, and fitness is used to maintain healthy minds and bodies in the workforce.

#3 FITNESS FOR OLDER ADULTS

Number three on the list of 2024 Fitness Trends is fitness programs for older adults.  Many retiring Baby Boomers are adopting lifestyles where fitness is a focus.  Regular physical activity for people over 65 can help them live independently and healthier longer.

The population is getting older… and maybe wiser about caring for themselves. The number of Americans aged 65 and above rose by 38% between 2010 and 2021. This increase is likely to continue through 2040.
