Goals are essential in fitness and life. At Ready Fitness, we do equipment, but we’re also passionate about fitness.
When we take on a project in your fitness space we are in turbo mode from beginning to end… and we go big! But when it comes to our fitness… we take a more measured approach.
Start with small changes
The best way to reach your goals is to make them a habit slowly over time. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither were abs of steel. If you set a goal of working out two hours a day after years of being a couch potato, that change will last one week or maybe just one workout. Think BIG, but start small.
Make a plan and stick to it.
You schedule work meetings, dates with friends, and dentist appointments, make an appointment to exercise your calendar, or set an alarm on your smartwatch. Start small, maybe twice a week, for 15-20 minutes. If something comes up, reschedule, but never cancel.
Find community support
It may take a village, but you really need a few reliable people in your corner. Find the fitness you like and find others who like it too. Yoga on Tuesdays, a weight class on Thursdays. If you have friends in the class you are less likely to flake. Gotta love that social exercise and positive peer pressure!
Celebrate Small Achievements
Don’t wait until you reach your final goal to reward yourself. Maybe it’s a new swimsuit or workout clothes, be sure to celebrate your hard work (in a healthy way) throughout the week, month, and year! After all, it’s about the journey!
